About the Press Pause Campaign

The Chastek Library collaborated with other Gonzaga University departments to create a mindfulness program, called the “Press Pause” campaign. Its purpose is to support the mental and emotional health of library patrons and foster a strong community.  Throughout the year, we organized a series of fun and therapeutic events for patrons and their families. These programs included therapy dogs in the library, free family movie nights, casual networking trivia events, meditation sessions, and a dedicated space for creative expression.

The “Press Pause” campaign raised the profile of the library within the institution, encouraged collaboration with the local community, and supported the university’s mission of “Cura Personalis,” or, “care for the whole person.” We accomplished all of this on a shoestring budget with a positive response from our patrons and students.

About: About

'"My law school experience would not have been the same without the support and encouragement of Chastek events.  From flying through the stacks for citation scavenger hunts to enjoying non-trivial refreshments during ultra-trivia challenges, law school was better because of Chastek’s treatment of me as not just a student in law school, but a law school person"
